Ditto what coach kenny said, I could not say it any better than that. Extremely proud of you girls, we have seen some great games from you but that championship game was absolutely flawless with everybody contributing in some way. You are going to be very successful in 14U.

Wow......Simply a wow performance by Lightning 96! We went back to Bartow and this time mother nature was not going to stop us, except you did it in the 14U division!! Congratulations ladies, we are very proud of you and your ISA/NSA Border Wars Championship!

Big congrats to Lightning '96 on their first 14U Championship win!!! That championship game was flawless ladies, absolutely flawless!!! Hats off to Amanda who pitched the full 7 innings and walked off with the shutout!!! All of you ladies played today with style and intensity that you don't often see in a 12U squad. You've again surpassed our expectations as a team, and we couldn't be happier for you. Also, a big THANK YOU to all of our parents, who also survived the intense heat over the weekend and helped keep our girls focused and on track. We couldn't do it without you. After the performance we all saw over this weekend, 2010 looks like it will be a very good year for Lightining '96. You make Lightning Nation proud ladies!!!

Good job high school team at the Michelle Smith tourney! Too bad your Sunday was cut short before your Krusherz rematch. At least through the magic of the rain and the tourney official's creative placement decision, we came in second. We'll get them at the next one girls!

Coach Kenny said:   September 21, 2009 9:12 am PST
Outstanding performance by all of Lightning Nation this weekend! A big congrats to Lightning '96 on their 3rd place (???...again) finish at Ed Radice and taking out the #1 seed before the rains came! You ladies can beat any team at any time, but you just can't beat Mother Nature!

Thanks from the 8U team for all of the kind words and wishes. This group of girls showed amazing heart coming from 8-2 down in our first bracket game and winning 10-8, and then 6-0 down in the semi-finals to the #1 seed and winning 7-6 in extra innings. The Championship game was smooth sailing after that.
